Do I hAve It? Mar 6, 2001 Well in the second week of january ..i had unprotected sex. I have had a rash in my groin i think..but it only showed up about last week or two weeks ago..and i have a cold.  You should wait a minimum of three months after exposure to get tested. Antibody tests, according to different sources, are most accurate between 3 and 6 months following exposure. Please read through the HIV testing archives for more information on the window period. RMK | ||||||||
