please please please please please please please please please please answer me... :( I asked you this question a couple of times before and i really really wish you would answer this time. does ELISA test detect all subtypes of HIV-1??? i had sex with a foriegner. would ELISA test check for all subtypes and strains of HIV-1 group M? please please, help a very anxious gal. if u don't know the answer or i need some special test, let me know asap. i'm very scared. and its really effecting my life. thank you again. sleepless in chicago. :(

HIV-1 antibody tests are fine-tuned to detect all subtypes of HIV in the group M catgory. See my response to Rare Strains into Perspective for more info.
