kissing is it safe.
Feb 27, 2003

how safe is kissing i kissed a girl who i didnt know and now i am really really worried.can i catch it from her if she has it and i kiss her and she has a little cut in her mouth?.oh man i dont know what to do i am losing my mind about this for the past month.please answer me.

Response from Mr. Kull

Since there is no evidence to support transmission through kissing (saliva isn't known to transmit HIV), it's considered a pretty safe activity. Try not to obsess about the possibility of a cut in her mouth; if you have no evidence of exposure to blood, why make things more difficult on yourself?

If you find that it's hard to stop worrying about this, or that your sexual activity with others is fraught with anxiety, you should really consider talking with a health professional, in person, about your concerns.

See Saliva as a barrier for more info.
