Regular blood test/doctors opinion Dec 13, 2002 I recently got sick with a sore throat.. the doctor did a blood test on me.. and said that I had a bacterial infection. Here's my question - if I were HIV positive would anything on that test show up to give the doctor reason to test me further? Is it possible he could ignore something that does suggest I have it? |

 The blood test that will tell you if you are HIV infected or not is an antibody test performed three or more months after your last exposure. If you have questions about the cause of your sore throat, try talking with your doctor about your concerns and specifically your sexual or injection drug use risk history. RMK | ||||||||
