Dear Dr Kull,
I am a little concerned after an encounter with a girl i know ( not sure of her sexual history though ).
Preceding protected sex, I fingered her ( no blood ) and then was feeling her body and could taste the fluids from her vagina.
I found i had an ulcer on my lower lip which freked me out.
I believe the fluid was either dry or drying when i had contact but still worry if transmission could be possible.
Am i making too much of this since i know direct cunnilingus is low risk, then this should be lower ? However, i did deep finger her and may have had contact with more than just vaginal juices.
Response from Mr. Kull
Your risk could be correlated to that of performing oral sex on a woman (cunnilingus), but be aware that your activity is not the same. The risk of transmission to you in this case is theoretical only, since we do not know of people getting infected through fingering.
