can i contact aids from kissing a person who is infected?
| Response from Mr. Kull
There is no evidence that people get infected with HIV from kissing. The reason for this is that saliva is not a fluid that is likely to transmit HIV. See Saliva as a barrier.
The CDC only identifies a risk in open-mouth kissing if there is blood present in the infected person's mouth. Mucous membrane contact with infected blood poses a risk for transmission.
