| Does fingering pose a risk? Feb 28, 2001 I am a heterosexual male who recently hooked up with a girl at a party. We did not have intercourse, but i did insert my finger into her vagina for a few minutes. She told me that she wasn't on her period, but I became i little suspicous while I washed my hands in the bathroom. Am I at risk? I should also tell you that she's "been around." |

Response from Mr. Kull
It is generally believed that inserting your finger in someone's vagina or anus poses very little risk for HIV infection (please read through our frequently asked questions). There is no evidence that anyone has ever been infected this way, but there is a small chance that someone could be infected through fingering. If you would like to further decrease your risk for infection when fingering someone, use a finger condom or a regular condom pver your finger to decrease contact with fluids. RMK | |||||||||
