What is this and is it hiv related? Does it just appear on the palms of hands and soles of the feet? Please answer. Thank you.
Response from Mr. Kull
I am not a doctor, so please see your doctor if you have any questions about symptoms that you are experiencing. You should also avoid any attempts to diagnose your symptoms on your own.
I believe that you are referring to the type of rash that is commonly associated to primary HIV infection (sometimes referred to as acute retroviral syndrome). The type of rash commonly associated with ARS is usually described as maculopapular, is painless, doesn't itch, and is located on the trunk of the body (sometimes the face as well). However, this type of rash does not mean you have HIV as it can be triggered by other things as well. Rely on a trained doctor to diagnose your symptoms in person.
