| Infectious liver diseases Dec 26, 2000 I manage HUD housing for the lower income elderly & handicap/disabled; I have a new tenant who has a liver disease & recently had another liver biopsy; he has sores on his upper body torso & arms & his skin is blotchy appearing; he does not look healthy -- is skinny, appears to have a mental incapacity; has a history of alcohol abuse; we have to go in his apt. to do plumbing maintenance; does his symptoms sound like anything contagious? What precautions should we be taking? I am not allowed by law to ask him what his disability [liver] is! Invasion of privacy! |

Response from Mr. Kull
Well, this isn't exactly the type of question we deal with in this forum. Regardless, I couldn't tell you if his symptoms were contagious or not. Unless you were coming into some direct contact with him, I don't see what you would be at risk for contracting. If you would like to take standard disease prevention precautions, let me suggest that you talk with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. RMK | |||||||||
