| 0NE ENCOUNTER ONLY Nov 3, 2000 I am a male who was curious about being with another man we had unprotected oral sex I gave him oral sex maybe three minutes I did not let him cum in my mouth. I only did this once he claims to be free of infections what are my risk of being infected with HIV I still talk to him about it he says he is clean but i am still worried. what should I do. i think i am going to have a panic attack. |

Your risk for infection is low in this one incident of unprotected receptive oral sex without ejaculation. The odds are really in your favor for not having been infected. Please read Don't Swallow: A Look at the Risks of Oral Sex for an encouraging article on the risks of oral sex for gay men. You have two options: 1) use a condom when you perform oral sex on someone to reduce the chances of later anxiety, 2) talk to someone about the anxiety you experience about HIV and sex with men.
