HIV and CBC--please answer ASAP
Nov 20, 2000
i know that a CBC cannot diagnose HIV, but i was wondering if it would give a sign for a doctor to do further testing. i have only been with 2 people in my life and my boyfriend now is negative. the first partner i had, we had protected sex almost all of the time, but a few times didn't use a condom. he never ejaculated inside of me and was tested around 2 months before we got together. i was just wondering if my differential CBC, which i got done 10 months after my first boyfriend and i broke up, would show something (lower numbers or a viral load) by then. otherwise there are no risk factors that i really have. i just have severe obessive-compulsive disorder and i am a pre-med student therefore i get freaked out and think i have whatever we learn about. thanks

A CBC would probably not alert the doctor about anything related to HIV 10 months after an infection. The best thing you can do is get an antibody test.
What are you doing about your "severe obsessive-compulsive disorder"?
