Does masturbation make you blind? Strangely in French the urban legend is that masturbation makes you deft!!!!!Given that I speak both languages...what gives? Could never find where that difference in legend comes from...no need to answer; just taught you might enjoy this particularity!

I too speak both languages. As for exactly where myths, legends and lies originate, well I suppose it varies from place to place. Here in the U.S. it seems most of ours originate on "Fox News" or from rightwing GOP bloviators, like Sarah Palin or Karl Rove. For instance, currently we have the "birther" movement claiming President Obama is an illegal alien and the claim that The Obama health plan will institute death panels that will throw granny off a cliff. Hmm . . . yep, these fit right in with all the masturbation myths.
