Freaking over frottage
Jan 11, 2005
Dr. Bob,
Happy New Year!
I am a former worried well and hopefully a current one.
I want to know if there is any risk of hiv from frottage(penis to buttocks). It was in a massage parlor and we both had our underwear on. 4 weeks post exposure, I got a rash under my arm. Now 5th week, I have diarehha and a weird feeling at the back of my throat. I know that you have answered questions similar to this but please help me. I have a wife and I don't want to cause any harm to her.
Thank you,
Stupid Husband

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello Stupid Husband,
Frottage, especially with both of you wearing your "Fruit of the Looms," is not considered a risk for HIV transmission. I think symptoms are most likely related to guilt over this episode. I suggest confronting your guilt (and fears) by being honest with your wife.
Dr. Bob
