Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,
Extremely brief vaginal intercourse is still vaginal intercourse! Unprotected sex places you at some degree of risk for STDs, including HIV. The estimated per-act statistical risk for acquiring HIV from unprotected penile-vaginal sex with a partner confirmed to be HIV positive is 5 per 10,000 exposures. Your estimated statistical risk would be less, because we don't know the HIV status of your gal-pal. Plus, your potential exposure was extremely brief (two seconds). HIV testing is warranted at the three-month mark to get a definitive result.
Thank you for your donation to The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation. Donation information can be found on the foundation's Web site at www.concertedeffort.org. In return I'm sending you my good-luck karma that your conclusive three-month HIV-antibody test result is negative.
Good luck.
Dr. Bob
