ABRAZO BOLIVIANO-Testing results, antybiotics, Agammaglobulinemia
Jun 18, 2009

Dr. BOB. Im just fascinated with what you write (and think). Quiero WOO HOO, but I cant. Im married with 2 babies (one is only 10 months old)Ive had sex with sex workers all over last year (not all over...but at least 4 times) (the last time was 6 1/2 months ago), then I realized I could have acquiried HIV. (even though all were protected sex, didnt break any condom..) I tested rapidly (at 83 days from the last risk encounter) the test was a piece of paper where you put a blood drop and wait 15 min. It was Neg. Not sure about it I took 6 ELISA (3er Gen.) at 14,19,21,23,24,25.5 and 27 weeks. Negative all.. Woo hoo me please!! Ive read some similar cases but I would like to read it from you to me...directly, sorry if I ask too much. I know you might be quite busy.

Im afraid now because last week I started fever, my tongue is a little white on the top and covered with 2 or 3 sores, plus 3 day diarrhea.

I really dont want to waste money testing anymore. Ive tested also for HCV (Neg. then and Neg at 27 weeks), HBV (neg.), Siphyllis (neg.), Chlamydia (Neg), IgA and IgM (both were in the normal range) at 23 weeks to discard agammaglobulineamia, wich I read it could affect results.

Is it enough testing including agammaglubolinemia?

One last thing, antybiotics could affetc results? (Amoxicilin, Cotrimoxazole, Azitromicin?)

You are doing a huge job, Im very happy to found your answers in the forums.

De Cochabamba Bolivia un abrazo enorme!!! (Huge HUG for you from my city)

   Response from Dr. Frascino

Hi,

Your HIV risk is essentially nonexistent if the latex condoms were used properly and did not fail (break).

Your repeatedly negative HIV-antibody tests out to 27 weeks are definitive, conclusive and highly excessive. HIV is not your problem. No way. No how.

You do not have agammaglobulinemia based on your test results.

Antibiotics do not affect HIV test results.

To sum up: WOO-HOO.

Dr. Bob
