Wisdom teeth removal and hiv risk

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed through oral-dental surgery. 2 weeks after my operation, I kissed someone for several hours (some french kissing was involved). I do not now this person's hiv status, but, as far as I know, this person generally has "safer sex" (ie. uses condoms, etc). Did I increase my risk of contracting HIV from him by kissing him with post-operative healing still taking place? Thank you.

Hi,
Your HIV-acquisition risk is essentially nonexistent. You should have been fairly well healed up two full weeks after wisdom teeth extraction. Besides, your partner would have to have been HIV positive and bleeding significantly. Unless your nickname is Dracula (or Draculina), I tend to doubt you'd enjoy all that fresh blood in your mouth. Most folks would consider it unsexy!
