| Geno-Pheno Testing Jun 14, 1999 Hi Doctor: My 14 year old son has been on AZT and 3tc for 3 years and his vl is now 7700, tcells 351. VL has increased over serveral months and tcells dropped by over 100. I hoped for 2X a day dosing with viracept, ziagen, and d4t. But I was worried about Ziagen since he has been on AZT. I brought him to hosiptal 3 wks ago for genotype and they called today to say they didn't get enough blood then today they said they could not do the test since no commercial labs do it. Do you know where to get one done? Geno or pheno? I know insurance will not pay but I will. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
The Stanford University Medical center virology lab will do genotyping. LabCorp in North Carolina will do pheno and genotyping. Specialty Labs in Santa Monica, CA will do genotyping. ViroLogic in San Francisco will do phenotyping. MH |
