CMV and other illnesses Apr 10, 2001 Dr.Little, I was infected with CMV 4 months ago, and I am now battling my 3rd sinus infection of the winter where a normal winter I get it once. My question is: Is my immune system still weak from having CMV 4 months ago and I'm more susceptible to sickness since then?? How long if so, will it take my immune system to get back to normal?? I'd really appreciate your opinion.Thanks!Ross - |

 Your immune system may be weaker after CMV infection, as this is another virus that affects the imune system (although not as profoundly as HIV does). I can't give you a timeframe for recovery from this, since it's very variable, |
