| Followup: choice of NRTI's after phenotype Apr 10, 2006 Thanks, Dr. Sherer, and here's added info: prior use of all of the approved NRTI's; no allergic reactions; genotype shows 41L, 43E, 44D, 69wt/A/D/N, 75M, 77L, 118I, 184V, 203K, 208Y, 210W, 211K, 215Y, 228R; back in 2002 a genotype also showed L74V, but it didn't show up on gentotypes in 2003 or 2005 or currently. So with VIRCO showing FC for ddI of 2.3, ABC 3.3 and TFV 2.4, what would you add to TMC114/TMC125/T20/3TC? |

Response from Dr. Sherer
I would substitute epzicom, i.e. co-formulated abacavir plus lamivudine, for lamivudine (3TC), so as to not add another pill. It may offer some antiviral activity with that phenotype. And I still suggest that you talk to your doctor about this information and my response. |
