Candida Queen
Nov 29, 1999

Dear Dr Reznik, I was drunk, I was mad, and I was reckless. Since then I have swollen glands, on and of, a white tongue that I brush and brush, and a vaginal itch that comes and goes. Now I know your going to tell me to get tested. But I was. My "dangerous contact" was July 3, I tested on Aug 5.(home test).Neg. My symptoms didn't really develope till after then.(except the glands) Here's the problem...I can't bring myself to get tested again. I've got 2 kids and a husband (who I told what I did). And I've become obsessed with my tounge and vaginal itch...yuk! I have had slight anemia in the past and am convincing myself that is what this is. Oh and I have restarted some onld bulemic habits because I gained 10lbs after I cheated. What a shipwreck huh???Thankyou for all the times I visited your site.Sometimes good and sometimes bad. But always appreciated. <3

Response from Dr. Reznik

The symptoms you describe do not sound very much like sero-conversion illness. I am going to fool you here and not request that you go and get tested, but rather visit your primary health provider or OB/GYN to receive an accurate diagnosis for the cause of your vaginal itch and swollen glands.

The white tongue you describe sounds very much like coated or hairy tongue; again, there is not relation between hairy or coated tongue and HIV.

Take care!

DR
