My mom went in to her dentist for a schedualed cleaningh, when she disclosed she had Hep. C she was told they did not do cleanning, Is this a legal? jon thompson

People with infectious diseases including HIV and Hep C are covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, there fore they should be allowed access to places of public accommodation, including dental offices. People who present to the dental office with a history of either HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C should be able to receive dental therapy in the private practice setting. It is "my opinion" that there would be no justification in refusing service based on hepatitis C status alone.
I would definitely suggest that you call your State Board of Dentistry and make an inquiry as to why your Mom was turned away.
