		Finding Information Jun 11, 2000 Does an individual who test positive for HIV have to report the results to the CDC. Or, where can I find more information about concerning this?


Advertisement Response from Dr. Reznik There are 35 states which have some form of HIV reporting legislation and 15 which do not. You, personally, do not have to report your status as this is managed by health professionals. Whether or not your HIV status will be reported will depend on which state you live in. Presently there is a possibility that the House version of the reauthorized Ryan White CARE Act will require HIV reporting from all states for funding by the fiscal year 2004.
