Sep 8, 2001
OK i have the alien look, fat belly skinny arms and legs doctor prescibed Serostim but my wonderful insurance doesnt want to cover the charges. Went to the health food stores and they have tons of HGH products, are they safe? how good are they? the labels say it has human growth hormone 30x Need help!

First of all HGH like all protein hormones needs to be taken by injection (or in some cases nasal administration) to avoid digestion in the stomach. This is why insulin has to be given by injection. So you cannot take HGH by mouth and have any effect. These preparations, 30X, indicate a homepathic preparation which means that not only will there not be any absorption in the stomach (see above) but that there is an infinitesimal amount present. Much lower than any pharmacologic dose. And still can't be absorbed in the stomach. Sounds like a waste of money. Now I know there are people who swear by homeopathic products but the science of hormone treatment is real. AF
