Nausea and Exercise
Apr 19, 1999

I try very hard to keep in shape and get exercise daily, but the nausea from the medication impairs my ability to do any type of physical activity. Are there any natural ways of relieving nausea? Such as difference foods or something. I would rather not take any more pills or compazine. I am taking Norvir, Invirase, Epivir and Zerit. 945 T Cells, no viral load, HIV+ for 8 years. Have been on this combo for about 4 months and just now started to feel sever nausea, sometimes vomiting due to the liquid Norvir. Thank you for your help and for listening.

Response from Dr. Dieterich

With your T cell and viral load response you might be able to change your regimen (the norvir!) to something less likely to cause nausea. Have you been on an NNRTI or other PI's in the past? IF so your options may be more limited.

Re natural remedies for nausea...that's what medical marijuana is all about. I am not an expert on alternative therapies, but there might be something in that line.

And don't forget that an undetectable VL and a T cell 945 is a terrific response.
