Nausea & fatigue
Dec 20, 1999

After 11 treatment naive years, I just started a Combovir/Sustiva cocktail (Combo 2x/day and 3 Sustiva @ bedtime). I am entering my 4th week. No major side-effects from Sustiva (just some trippy dreams), but I do have very slight, constant nausea and definite fatique from the Combovir. I also find I am always hungry (there has also been some unwanted weight gain). Will the nausea and fatique go away? I am so tired in the evening that working out just isn't an option. Any ideas or comments for me? Thanks.

Response from Dr. Fisher

Yes the combivir is probably the cause (more likely AZT than 3TC) and should gradually improve. If not try switching the combivir for d4T with 3TC. Alvan Fisher, M.D.
