Fasting for cancer prevention
Feb 21, 2014
I've been positive since 2007 and have been taking Atripla since then and have been undetectable. I've been listening to a podcast about taking a once-a-year 10 day fast for cancer prevention but my boyfriend thinks or doesn't know the safety of not eating during this 10 day period. I haven't read anything saying that you HAVE TO eat after or before taking it. I would be drinking distilled water only. Thanks!

The theory is that fasting will decrease blood insulin levels. High insulin has been linked to cancer.
However, a healthier approach would be to keep your insulin low with proper diet and exercise. These suggestions are aimed at that goal.
