testosterone production
Apr 13, 2013

I was told that in taking shots of testosteron that my levels would improve. After takig a sperm cout test my levels came back zero, What can I do to retreive a normal level, please help..

Response from Mr. Vergel

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can decrease sperm count since it shuts down the production of LH and FSH, two hormones secreted by the pituitary to enable testicles to make sperm. Some doctors are able to put men on TRT plus human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) with or without Clomid to normalize sperm count and quality for men who need testosterone but also want to father a baby. Very few physicians know how to do so since there are no agreements on best protocols to use. Here is a recent study using TRT+HCG:

Testosterone+ HCG Preserves Healthy Sperm in Men on TRT

Talk to your doctor about your concerns of losing your fertility while on TRT.
