|High Red blood cell count
Aug 12, 2012
Hello Dr. Nelson, I am hiv+, on Atripla for 3 years, CD4 count around 400, undectectable viral load, on testosterone injections for 6 years, synthroid for hypothyroidism, hcg and blood pressure medicine. The last few blood tests show I have an elevated red blood cell count, and high hemacrit level. What can I do to lower this, without going off my testosterone. My levels are 400 ngl at the lowest reading (day before my next injection) and 876 ngl 3-4 days after my injection. I actually feel better with a higher reading, but my Dr. suggest I stop the testosterone....
