| androderm vs. androgel Jun 29, 2012 Hi Nelson, Do androderm and androgen accomplish the same thing? Is there an advantage to one over the other? Thanks in advance -- M |

Response from Mr. Vergel
Androderm delivers testosterone through the skin by using a patch, much like the nicotine patch. It works, but many men complain of irritation on the application site and concerns about disclosing to others that they are on testosterone replacement. So, this older product is not selling well since gels came to the market. Androgel is a testosterone gel that has 1.62 percent of testosterone. You apply it every day on your abs and other areas that would not potentiality be in contact with women or kids. There are other products that can deliver testosterone like injections, Testim, Fortesta, Axiron, Testopel and Striant. Also, compounding pharmacies make testosterone creams with higher concentrations than 1 percent and also ten times cheaper than the commercial products I just mentioned.
