SUPPLEMENTS
May 4, 2008

I'hv been dignosed last 3yrs ago and not taking med yet. However, i have been taking effective supplements such lifepak (multi-vit), Teagreen(Green tea extract), Reshimax(Ganoderma Lucidum) and G3(fruit juice). These supplements contain high in antioxidant and boost immunity. I don't smoke and i do exercise. What else can i do or do effectively to prolong this before i start taking med. Am so worry of the physical side effect. Kindly advise!TQ! ps:- The supplements are from Phamanex.

Response from Mr. Vergel

To be honest with you, I do not have any information about those supplements.

We have some positive data in HIV on selenium, B-vitamins, Coenzyme Q 10, carnitine, fish oils, glutamine, calcium, and antioxidant formulas like K-PAX,and aminoacid formulas like Juven.

I would just make sure that if you are going to try to use supplements while not using HIV meds, that you keep in mind that your CD4 cells should be above 350 and your viral load much under 100,000 copies per ml to ensure that you stay healthy. Also watch your liver enzymes since some supplements and herbs my increase them.
