| Exercises for Butt and Abdomen Jun 19, 2004 I am really self conscious about my protruding abdomen and wonder if crunches will really work to reduce the size and shape. And, I have knee problems and find squats painful to do. Is there something else I can do to build up my butt? Thank you, |

Response from Mr. Vergel
The best way to decrease the belly problem related to lipodystrophy is to combine cardiovascular training ( I love elliptical trainers found in most gyms)(20-30 min 3 times a week) and weight training (1 hour , 3 times a week). You can do abdominal work outs 2 times a week, but let them rest also. Cut down on your sugar, pasta and white flour intake to the max. Eat more protein and vegetables. It is hard to work out the butt without using your knees. But there are some exercises like these two that will minimize knee use: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/GluteusMaximus/CBStandingHipExtension.html http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/GluteusMaximus/LVReverseHyperextension.html Nelson | ||||||||||
