rice cakes... swell?
Jun 3, 2004

Hello! I'm on a very low cal diet and rice cakes are awesomely low (35).... i put one in water and it swelled up. I'm just wondering if it'll do that in my tummy and if it'll wreck my goal of having a flat tummy?

Thank you very much! Sincerly, Jennifer MacFarlane

Response from Mr. Vergel

Rice cakes are horrible for increasing insulin levels in the blood. They have one of the highest glycemic indexes of all foods. Just because something is low cal it does not mean it is good for you. Snack with low fat cottage cheese, nuts, fruits, vegetables, and try to exercise 3-4 times a week for an hour, combining cardio and weight training.
