Is a cleansing fast okay? Nov 16, 2003 Hello, I'm considering a 7-day supervised cleansing fast including colonic irrigation at a spa in Thailand. I have several friends who have done this program and found it to be wonderfully rejuvenating. I'm not on drug therapy and have CD4 about 1000 and viral load of 5,000. Is this okay to do the fast? |

 I am sorry if I seem too conservative, but I do not believe in fasting at all. You need nutrients to keep your immune system strong. And fasting can cause weight loss! I know some religions may require it, but from the clinical point of view, I think someone with HIV should be very careful about this. Nelson | |||||||||
