| flax seed oil Oct 5, 2003 Hi Nelson Can consumption of flax seed oil contribute to lipoatrophy? I notice whenever I go on a high flax seed oil diet, my stomach doesn't get any smaller, but my facial wasting gets worse. When I stop, so stops the facial wasting. But it doesn't get better. This has happened to me 3 times already. And I have no other adverse reactions to the flax seed oil, only this (I suspect). Any comments would be appreciated. |

Response from Mr. Vergel
I have never heard this and have never seen any studies pointing towards this direction (I have actually seen studies that indicate that Omega 3 fatty acids may improve fat metabolism in lipodystrophy). This is very interesting. Facial wasting has been linked to the use of Zerit and AZT.Are you taking any of those two drugs? Nelson | |||||||||
