Maintaining Muscle Mass
Oct 4, 2003

Nelson,

Hey! I loved "Built to Survive!" It really helped motivate me.

My question is this: I started on a regimen of sustiva/viread/emtriva and later switched to viramune/viread/emtriva beacuse sustiva made me feel tired.

I really want to continue to build muscle mass..beef really. I took your advice about adding things like COenzyme Q10 and Aceytl-L-Carnitine to my supplements..but what can I do to prevent weight loss and continue to grow??

Response from Mr. Vergel

Without knowing your height, weight and frame size, I am just going to give you some easy pointers.

1-Make sure your testosterone is over 300-500 nanograms (total)and that your thyroid is OK. 2- If you can afford it, add aminoacids like glutamine, creatine, Juven or Resurgex to your daily intake. Go to www.medibolics.com for more info. We also have dosage info in Built to Survive. 3- I am assuming that now your energy levels are better with Viramune ( I bet you can sleep better!). So ramp up your work outs if you can and NEVER give up. Most people start losing motivation after a few weeks since most want fast results. It takes at least 8-12 weeks to start seeing improvements in body composition after starting any program. 4- Do not shoot in the dark. Get a BIA test done to find out what your body composition is. Go to www.medibolics.com for locations around the US.

I hope this helps some.

Nelson
