Recommended nutrition/exercise for newly diagnosed?
Sep 3, 2003

I just tested poz, am asymptomatic and am not on meds. CD4 628/54 VL 11,150. I'm in great shape, exercise a lot, both resistance and cardio, eat reasonably well, drink moderately, smoke rarely. Any thoughts on dietary supplements or other strategies to gird for the coming battles?

Response from Mr. Vergel

I love glutamine for the gut, lean tissue and immune support at 10 grams a day (20 grams if you have dirrhea). I also like a good B vitamin complex (whatever is on sale and that has at least 100 mg of thiamine and riboflavin). Selenium at 200 micrograms per day is important for antioxidant support along with Vit E at 400 units. Some people like whey protein shakes if you can tolerate them at 30 grams per serving (two a day)
