| foods to avoid? Jul 19, 2003 I know that nutrition can play a big part in keeping yourself healthy if you are H-I-V positive. I just read that H-I-V positive people should stay away from ice,raw vegetables, and fruits? I use frozen fruit to make smoothies, am I just aking for trouble, and should I really avoid fresh vegetables such as carrots etc...? |

Response from Mr. Vergel
Not really. I would only avoid raw vegetables that I have not cleaned myself if my T cells were close to 50 or below for fear of getting parasites or cryptosporidiosis. Stay away from animal fats and refined sugars (and corn syrup, fructose, sodas). Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables but make sure they are clean! Nelson | |||||||||
