| Supplements, diet and exercise Jul 19, 2003 I have been HIV+ for almost 2 years and take no meds. Currently my CD4 is 420/VL56,000 (highest VL to date). I have never had a CD4 above 550. My counts have a tendency to fluctuate drastically and have had CD4 as low as 269 and VL as low as 497. I contribute low CD4/high VL to stress. I take supplements such as Aloe Vera, CoQ10, multivitamin, Vit E 400 iu, Wild Yam root, liver detox, ModuCare, 1000 mg Vit C. I exercise regularly with weight training and cardio as least 4 to 5 times a week and have good muscle mass and low body fat. I eat a low fat diet that is high in protein (chicken, tuna, salmon, occasional pork and red meat) eat nuts, lots of vegetables, fruits and wheat bread. I occasionally drink alcohol, with red wine being my beverage of choice. Are there any other supplements or foods that you would recommend or any that I should not be taking? I would like to avoid taking meds as long as possible. |

Response from Mr. Vergel
You are doing pretty well with your program, although I do not know the reason behind the wild yam and do not know what moducare is. Keep an eye on your increasing viral load, though. | |||||||||
