| Proper vitamin Jun 7, 2003 Dear Doc, I tested positive in December of 2002, and I started treatment in May of 2003. I am taking Sustiva and Combivir. I have had little to no side effects. I am currently taking a B complex time released vitamim. Is that a good vitamin for me to be taking or do you have another recommendation. I am 27yrs old and am otherwise in good health, mentally and physically. I want to be taking something to, of course, boost my immune system and help to counter effect any depletion to my system due to the medication. Thank you JJH |

Response from Mr. Vergel
Without knowing your medications and your lipids, it is hard to tell. You may want to take vitamin E (400 iu/day), selenium (200 micrograms/day), make sure the B vitamins are at least at 50 mg-100 mg/day each (except B-12 which should be 1000 micrograms/day), alpha lipoic acid at 100 mg/day , and a multimineral should be plenty.
