rookie, many?????

Apr 25, 2003

nelson, thank you for your opions. after visting your wellness site, i see i could spend hours asking questions.since being new at all of this. 1. do you favor early treatments of harrt? 2. you still rotating your treatments? is there an advantage 3. should one start using hormone or steroid treatments? newly infected. i really feel like crap already. 4. your site says you are dissabled, how are you feeling? after almost 20yr. poz. thank you for your time cw

Response from Mr. Vergel

I am not a doctor, so I really can not give you any advise on your questions. The issue of when to start is very controversial and depends on your T cells, viral load, symptoms, adherence potential, lifestyle, etc I do not rotate treatments since I have developed resistance to most drugs in my 20 years with HIV. There is some research that is actually looking at the advantages of doing so. Anabolic steroid treatment should only be used by those who cannot regain weight and lean body mass by normal means like better caloric intake, exercise, etc I am feeling great and travel a lot with my lectures. I am more hopeful than ever since there are several options available and in the research pipeline for people with multi-drug-resitant virus! Thanks for asking. Let me know if you want to talk about your "feeling like crap"
