Do you know anything about NutriVir? What does it do?
Response from Mr. Vergel
NutriVir and NutriVir-NSA (No Sugar Added) are combinations of whey protein, vitamins, anti-oxidants, aminoacids, digestive enzymes and medium chain triglycerides. It is covered by some Medicaid programs. It costs around $56 a month. It seems like a comprehensive nutrional supplement with a good taste. I would be careful if you have milk protein allergies since whey protein can cause diarrhea, gas and bloating . I have not seen studies in HIV using Nutrivir; however, there are some studies on the separate ingredients for different conditions. Go to www.nutrivir.com for more information. Ask your doctor to refer you to a registered dietitian who has experience in HIV dietary issues.
