i know i have to increase my protein to try to slow down this wasting, but i found i was allergic to whey protein. so i began drinking glutamine and other amino powders. soon, i found those powders not only give me diarrhea, but i notice a marked increase in my wasting when i'm on the amino powders as opposed to when i take a break from them. have you ever heard of this? is there anything i can do to increase my protein without running into problems like this? I can eat eggs in the morning, tuna for lunch, chicken for dinner, turkey for the after dinner meal, and salmon for midnight protein. Does that sound good to you? i'm just so confused about how to handle this - it seems like i'm running out of options.

I have the same problem with whey (I am very allergic to it) It seems that diet wise you got it right. Glutamine alone should be good for lean tissue growth and to improve diarrhea. There are egg white supplements also that you may want to try. I am not too crazy about soy based protein supplements because its low bioavailability and potential estrogen inducing effects. I would stop the amino acid supplements if they are giving you GI problems. Also, have you considered anabolic therapy for your wasting?
