Nelson,
I have recently sero-converted and have a few questions about protein powders/supplements. Are there any specific components that you know of, found in protein powders that i should avoid with respect to negative impact on my immune or related systems? I've been taking protein powders for about a year now (since before i was infected) and they all seem to offer 'the best' results. I just worry that since there are so many chemicals and unfamiliar ingredients added to them that there is the potential for them to be harmful without my realizing it. Is there a particular brand or variety that you recommend? I am not currently on meds my most recent #'s were cd4 950 and vl 3100. Also, what would you consider a realistic maximum intake of protein powder per day?

Response from Mr. Vergel
All whey protein powders are the same to me , so pricing is the main deciding factor. I can not tolerate whey (diarrhea), so I prefer taking aminoacids like glutamine, creatine and carnitine for lean body mass support.
A maximum intake of 30 grams of protein per serving is enough for your gut to process. Your own body will tell you if you are overloading it by producing gas and bloating. Drink lots of water also!
