Androgel and Striant -- Interchangeable ?
Jun 11, 2009

Hi Nelson --

Cheers to you for being the wonderful source of information you are. You were the first person I thought of when asked this question ....

Androgel is great as a hormone replacement method, but sometimes, like when on vacation, frequent swimming or contact with children can be an issue for those using testosterone gel.

Would Striant (oral transdermal T), be an acceptable (and equivalent) short-term method of T replacment for those times when applying androgel might not be convienient ?

I'm asking you since I really haven't seen that much discussion regarding Striant. Do you feel Androgel and Striant are interchangeable for short-term usage ? (I realize oral T replacement has a highter incidence of side effects).

I'm on a standard dose of Androgel (5gm/day).

Thanks so much !

Yes, you could use Striant but remember it has to be used twice a day.

Some people complain of gum inflammation and an unpleasant taste when using this gum strip that releases small amounts of testosterone through your gums and into your blood stream.

Or you could inject testosterone while you are on vacation.
