I was tested for HIV today. I have waited the proper amount of time to get tested. Where I was tested, results take 10-12 days because they have to be sent away. I am very anxious and afriad to get the results. Getting the test was nerve-wracking enough, but now I have to wait 2 weeks for the results. Is there anything I can do to make these two weeks as smooth and relaxing as possible?

Response from Mr. Shernoff

Not really. It is quite normal to be anxious while waiting for something as important as the consequences on the rest of your life of whether or not you are infected with HIV. You need to prepare yourself to live with either possibility, and to accept the current anxiety as understandable, especially if you have ever engaged in any high risk behaviors that might have exposed you to HIV.
