Starting to Smile in CA Sep 14, 2000 Dear Michael, just an update: I met with my counsellor and we discussed the fear I've had in my life these past few months. He was very understanding and we are now exploring the reason why I put myself in this situation in the first place. I mentioned to him that I found this site as an excellent resource for learning about HIV/AIDS and how I've become more aware of this issue. I feel that you need to learn more about HIV so that you are not paralyzed by the fear of what you don't know. The web is filled with so much misinformation that when I found this website I felt it was a godsend. Also, I went back and got my 5+month antibody test and it was negative. I basically am done obsessing. I also called my local AIDS organization for volunteer opportunities. I am starting to heal and smile. Thank you and please keep up the excellent work... |
