cost of treatment

If someone finds out they're positive and don't have any insurance,is there help out there for medication and where? thank you
Response from Mr. Shernoff
Though your question is not a mental health question it is so important I will respond. Most, but not all states have a federally funded program known as ADAP (AIDS DRUG ASSISTANCE PLAN) which will pay for all HIV related medications for individuals who make less than $44,000. To find out about this call the local AIDS organization and make an appointment to speak with their benefits coordinator. Michael Shernoff, MSW
