| Am i in a world of make beleive? Jun 2, 1999 I had vaginal intercourse with a escort that was protected and only lasted 20-30 seconds. I have been gripped with fear since this time, fear of infecting my wife and of not getting the oppurtunity to see my kids grow up, what is making this worse is i have had every symptom i have seen listed all of them in amild way but all of them none the less. I was tested at 32 days based of cdc stating on average it takes 25 days for positive to show, my test was negative and my doc refuses to run any further tests, he told me i was nuts and that the symptoms i have had [temp that has gotten up to 99.6, diarrhea a couple of times, some haedaches] are all stress related. Should i find another doc or listen to this one, he has reffered me to a counselor, but i am not crazy just scared, i walk around all day in a daze. Thank you for your compassion and i hope you get everything you desire!! |

Response from Mr. Shernoff
I don't think that you are crazy, but you are certainly being overwhelmed by irrational fears. If like you say, you wore a condom then your chances of haivng become infected are just about zero. The kind of emotionally charged fears that you are describing are regularly experienced by individuals who are profoundly guilty about a sexual experience they have had. If your fears do not subside soon I'd urge you to consult a mental health professional and get some counseling in order to work through what is troubling you so terribly. Michael Shernoff, MSW | |||
