13 weeks Pregnant and P24ab western blot interderminate
Mar 17, 2013
Upon my first appointment with my OB doctor I was given my blood test results in which I was told I am HIV positive. Obviously this was a devastating thing to hear. I have always taken my health very seriously and have only been with two long term relationships. My test results show the only antigen showing up is p24 with an indeterminent western blot. Along with HIV 1/0/2 ABS showing 1.1. While I await further PCR testing the stress on my body is unbearable. Would it be beneficial to take a rapid hiv test to see if it finds me negative. This would obviously give me peace.

A rapid test will add to the confusion. You need to have the additional HIV tests you described performed on a second blood sample.
