Ibogaine and Complera interaction? Feb 3, 2013 I am considering Ibogaine treatment for chronic alcohol abuse. I have been taking Complera for one year. I also take 10mg of citalopram for depression once a day, but only for about a month now, which seems to be working. Would it be safe to combine Ibogaine HCL in a treatment center situtation (either Toronto or Mexico) along with the Complera and citalopram? Thanks! |

 Thanks for writing. Because Ibogaine is prohibited in many countries there is little research on its interaction with many kinds of drugs. There are documented complications that include cardiac arrhythmias and ataxia (lack of voluntary control of muscle movements). It is also noted that psychiatric medications are strongly contraindicated due to adverse reactions, so I would be cautious mixing Ibogaine with citalopram. I endorse getting treatment for your chronic alcohol abuse but strongly caution you about Ibogaine. -David | ||||||||
